Kate Nolan

My name is Kate Nolan and I am a cofounder of DNK Presents. Getting outside has always been a passion of mine. I believe we need a connection to nature in order to live a happy, healthy and balanced life. I grew up camping, backpacking, downhill skiing, racing BMX and mountain bikes, trail running and rafting. I believe my bond with nature has helped me to excel in my professional career, helped to overcome obstacles personally and professionally and the spiritual gain has been profound.

I like to say that I am an adventurista! I enjoy getting dirty hiking and backpacking in the woods, but I also like the occasional luxury of a hotel or cabin. Growing up in the country outdoor activity was always second nature to me, whether it was playing sports or building forts in the woods with my family or friends. I feel best when I am able to get outside and turn off my phone or other technology and just embrace nature! It’s an awesome feeling to be able to educate and share that with others.

Guides and Coaches for DNK Presents!

Kate Chernivsky

Growing up Kate’s adventurous spirit was cultivated in an incubator rich in road trips, bikes, camping, climbing in trees, and being in the woods.

In her adult like Kate’s love for bikes was solidified when she realized they were a threshold from the world of the ordinary into a world of mystery, excitement and remoteness from everyday life.  She has been on a mission to share this passion with others ever since.

On her journey she has revitalized community bike projects across the country and spent five years working in the bike industry. In the process covering tens of thousands of miles of ground on her bikes!

Most recently Kate founded Indy Rolls Out a group formed to promote equality in mountain biking, hosts a weekly women MTB ride, leads MTB trail build crews, holds a seat on the Hoosier Mountain Biking Association Board, and had joined DNK to further engage women in the realm of bikes!

Kate is a PMBIA certified MTB coach and working towards holding a NOLS wilderness first aid certification. As part of DNK she will be leading local rides in Indianapolis, bike packing trips in southern Indiana, and coaching mountain biking clinics and camps.

Tiffany “Hutch” Hutchens

Tiffany “Hutch” Hutchens is a level two IMBA certified mountain bike coach who fully embraces the entertainment facet of teaching. “If I can paint a picture in your head that makes you laugh, then you’re going to remember how to execute the skill.” Hutch brings a wealth of experience from her time as a high school teacher and athletic coach, as well as double digit years spent on a mountain bike. Hutch travels throughout the southeast racing for Dan’s Comp Factory Racing and lives in Evansville, IN with her dogs and a husband thrown in there for good measure.

Nate Hawkins

Nate is the owner of Brown Dog Mapping Services. He has been mountain biking for almost 20 years. Nate is a Level 1 certified coach through PMBIA and is passionate about using bikes as tools for adventure. He has a MS in environmental science and is also interested in conservation, camping, hiking, canoeing, and reading. He has also been known to sew his own outdoor gear, homebrew, and cook.

Katy Williams

I am a 3rd grade teacher who lives in Fountain Square with my husband Aaron and our 2 cats and 5 chickens. I grew up camping and traveling with my family and coached sailing on Lake Michigan in high school and college. I have always loved the outdoors but got very interested in backpacking a few years ago and tried my first overnight in the Charles Deam Wilderness. Some of my favorite hikes have been Gros Piton in St. Lucia, Red River Gorge in Kentucky, and Yellowstone National Park hikes.

Our Mission:

Guide individuals on adventure experiences allowing a space for them to step outside their comfort zones, try something for the first time, and in turn gain confidence and empowerment through experiential learning.

Our adventures may look like overnight backpacking retreats, mountain bike clinics, indoor to outdoor rock climbing programs, yoga, meditation, mindfullness, hiking, canoeing, disconnecting from technology, reconnecting with yourself. An adventure is an unusual or exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity, therefore there is always an element of surprise on our adventure experiences. Your life should be your greatest adventure, start living it NOW.

Your next great adventure is waiting!

We (Danielle & Kate Nolan – hence DNK) began DNK Presents because we want to encourage a happy, healthy community and lifestyle. We feel we live life to the fullest whether it’s mountain biking, trail running, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, backpacking whatever it is we felt that having the balance of nature, and outdoor adventures has made us successful in our own careers. We decided to launch a DNK Presents to provide guided adventure retreats to individuals, groups and businesses to promote a balanced, happy, healthy lifestyle.

There is a trend in today’s society where a non-stop, technology consumed stagnant lifestyle is becoming more and more prevalent. We have noticed this and knew that there was a definite need that people want to get outside but, don’t know where to go, what to do, or wouldn’t feel safe going on an adventure alone. DNK Presents gives people the opportunity to reconnect with nature and try something for the first time.

For businesses studies have shown that their employees build stronger relationships, improve productivity, increase motivation, foster problem solving, encourage creativity, promote a healthy lifestyle, etc.

Personally outdoor adventures improve quality of life, reduces stress, helps build relationships, improves sleep patterns, reduces anxiety, and endless physical, mental and spiritual benefits.

DNK Presents provides a well-cultured, active and adventurous community and lifestyle. DNK Presents provides people and businesses with the opportunity to get out, explore nature and challenge yourself in a safe and fun atmosphere. Unplugging from technology gets you plugged back into real life and with yourself.
