Wilderness First Aid and CPR class brought to you by DNK Presents! We are very excited to be the host of a SOLO Wilderness First Aid Course and CPR training through the American Heart Association in Brown County Indiana.
This is a 16-hour, 2 day, entry level course. It’s great for outdoor enthusiasts looking to learn more about wilderness medicine and first aid in the backcountry and anyone looking to feel more safe and confident in the outdoors alone or with a group. Wilderness First Aid (WFA) covers topics ranging from preparation and prevention to assessment and treatment of injuries that may occur in the wilderness. Students will have an opportunity to learn practical skills through hands-on scenarios as well as in a traditional classroom setting.
Upon completing and passing the course you will receive your Wilderness First Aid Certification through SOLO, this is a 2-year certification.
*Please note that SOLO and our instructors are taking extra precautions due to COVID-19 and will be practicing social distancing during the course.

COVID-19 Disclaimer: This wilderness medical training consists of didactic and practical skills. During didactic lessons, students will be separated by 6ft in the classroom space. Group sizes are smaller to support this. However, where the appropriate assessment of patients requires physically touching a patient, there is always the potential of risk in doing so. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are requiring students to take additional precautions throughout the course. Students (patients and rescuers) MUST wear gloves, a face mask, and eye protection during ANY hands-on work. With these additional requirements, we are working to reduce the risk that is present. In taking the training, you understand the associated risks are similar to coming across a patient in the backcountry.

Meet your Instructors:
SOLO Instructors – Tymme Laun and Danyele Green both have their Wilderness First Responder certifications and have completed multiple cave rescue courses over the past 2 ½ decades. Tymme has Level 3 certification and Danyele has completed Level 1 with NCRC. They also assist in the weekend orientation to cave rescue course offered by NCRC and have taught for NASAR in the past through courses offered at Indiana University. An in-cave accident many years ago jump started their passion for adding wilderness medicine courses into their knowledge base. They both have a passion for sharing the knowledge learned with others and look forward to our upcoming course.
