Danielle Wolter Nolan FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Indiana-based outdoor adventure company, DNK Presents’ documentary film, “Live Adventurously” received the award for Best Documentary at the Alhambra Film Festival, Friday, April 8th in Evansville, Indiana. “Live Adventurously” won over “Guns and Guitars – A Musical Travelogue”, “Nobody Dies Here”, and “West Virginia My Home, Musicians and the Mountain State Experience”. In the third year of it’s inception, the Alhambra Film Festival received over 4,000 film entries from across the world. This is the first film festival selection and award for “Live Adventurously”.
“Live Adventurously” follows the journey of four local Indiana women who won the inaugural DNK Presents’ Women’s Adventure Contest. Danielle and Kate Nolan guided the women over a 4-day period in the backcountry of central Indiana. None of them knew each other, or exactly what was in store for them, but they all left with something much more than they ever imagined possible.
Executive Commissioner of Film Indy, Teresa Sabatine states, “The world is ready for more content that shines a light on women, and is for women by women. “Live Adventurously” is exactly what we have all been waiting for. It is powerful, inspiring, emotional, and shows us real women overcoming real challenges. In a space that is often lacking the honest portrayal of women, “Live Adventurously” finally fills the gap. Many people can benefit from watching these women go outside their comfort zones and re-discover the extraordinary in themselves. I look forward to seeing what DNK Presents does next.”

The Alhambra Theatre is the historic movie theatre in the Haynie’s Corner Arts District of Evansville Indiana. It opened on September 27, 1913 as a movie theatre. The Alhambra was built in the Moorish revival style and only a playhouse in New York predates the theatre. The Alhambra Theatre Film Festival helps to raise awareness and funding for the restoration of this historic theatre. The 2018 film festival will take place at the Double Tree Hotel in Evansville, Indiana, April 5-8.
