World Ride is a 501(c)3 non profit that has a mission of empowering women globally through mountain biking. We work with local women in Nepal, Guatemala, and more countries soon to help get more women on mountain bikes.
What we do:
-Establish bike libraries for women to borrow from
-Donate gear for women to use or borrow
-Support women with leadership and guide training
-Work with local partners to run mountain bike tours in each place we work in to provide a way for supporters to visit the places we work in- these tours are guided by local women who we support
-Work with partners to establish infrastructure- this big one is working with Pump for Peace to build pump tracks. Right now, we are working on them to build pump tracks in both Nepal and Guatemala.
-Work with PMBIA to host instructor training courses- we have one planned in Nepal in the fall- fingers crossed it happens with COVID!
Countries we have active programs in:
Countries we are working on expanding to:
-Iran (working with Faranak Parto Azar)
World Ride Trips
-We believe that our trips are an important part of our mission because they allow supporters to visit the countries that we work in and get to meet the women that we work with. We currently run trips in Nepa, Guatemala, Peru and Lesotho.
-World Ride trips are co-ed and we partner with local professional tour tour companies to provide the best experience. These partners employ the women we have helped support in becoming mountain bike guides.
Movie Nights & Sweepstakes
-Our movie nights and sweepstakes are a big fundraising opportunity for us.
-They also allow us to connect with the mountain bike community and share women’s mountain bike films.
